Children:
Chiropractic care is essential for a child’s overall wellness! Myriad Medial Associates uses gentle and safe adjustments to address your child’s needs. According to the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, more than 17% of all chiropractic patients are under the age of 18 in the United States.
Of that 17%, nearly 8% are 5 years or younger. Even though it may seem that children do not need chiropractic care, starting them with preventative care early on in development will help set them up for a longer, happier and healthier life. Since significant spinal trauma can occur at, or prior to birth, many parents choose to have their newborn’s spine examined.

Mothers:
During pregnancy, there are several endocrinological and physiological changes that occur in preparation for creating the environment for the developing baby.
The following changes can result due to a misaligned spine or joints:
-
Protruding abdomen and increased back curvature
-
Pelvic changes, especially in 2nd, 3rd and 4th pregnancies
-
Postural adaptations due to weight changes
Pelvic alignment is another reason why mothers obtain chiropractic care during pregnancy. When the pelvis is imbalanced it may reduce the amount of space available for the developing baby. This may also make it difficult for baby to get into the best possible position for delivery. Pelvic balance can affect the mother’s ability to have a natural, non-invasive birth. Breech positions can interfere with the natural ease of labor and lead to interventions such as c-sections.
